Overview of CheMentor Individual Modules - details and on-line samples: This is a 'Practice' module, consisting of six programs. Three of the programs are of the 'Recognition' variety i.e., they
present you with a formula of an ion and ask you to identify it.
You select from a set of answers that are given on-screen. These programs will present (a) cations only, (b) anions only
and (c) anions and cations. The remaining three programs are aimed at having you write the
formula for an ion. You will be presented with the name of an
ion and you have to type the formula into a box and the charge
on the ion into another box. Your answer is then judged for correct
use of Upper and Lower case letters, correct ions, charges, subscripts
and parentheses. Your answers are judged and incorrect responses are highlighted. Each type of program (writing or recognition) has a Test component.
You can take tests containing 10, 20 or 30 questions. As you answer
each question, the program saves its feedback and responds only
by presenting another question. At the end of the test the 'Review
Answers' button will appear and this will allow you to cycle through
the test questions, see what you gave as an answer, and the feedback
that the program had for each of your answers. Try out the program - it should have appeared in the area below.
